　　1) Sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate reacts with sulfur dioxide and also reacts with carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide content in the flue gas is much higher than that of sulfur dioxide. After the reaction between carbon dioxide and sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate is produced, while sulfur dioxide reacts with sodium hydroxide to produce sodium sulfate and sodium sulfite. These two reactions occur simultaneously. Due to the much higher carbon dioxide content, the amount of sodium carbonate produced is quite large. Some of the sodium carbonate reacts with sulfur dioxide dissolved in water again, and the sulfur dioxide content is very low after the first spray washing (some reacts with sodium hydroxide to produce sodium sulfate and sodium sulfite). After the second reaction, a large amount of sodium carbonate is discharged into the displacement system, so the amount of calcium hydroxide consumed by carbon dioxide (which is actually consumed as calcium hydroxide after displacement) is very high (affected by desulfurization efficiency, washing efficiency, and residence time).
